3) Below is a message from Pete Hofmann:
Brother Knights,
I want to thank all of you who have participated in our First Saturday hikes these last few months. Those who have participated have told me how they have enjoyed mass, the hike, and having Father Rafael join us to offer reflections and making the sacrament of reconciliation available.
As the temperatures rise, I’ve decided to suspend the hikes until fall and cooler weather. If anyone is interested in participating in a road trip/hike this summer(say to Sedona or other more elevated and cooler spots), please let me know.
Vivat Jesus!
Pete

Dear Knights & Squires,
My name is Jacob Rak-Kinonen, son of Knight David Rak-Kinonen. I am a Life Scout and Eagle Scout Candidate.
For my Eagle project I will be refurbishing one room of the back portable at Guadalupe Boys & Girls Club to be used for studying and learning - “The Discovery Center”.
The project includes; removing existing carpeting and baseboards, building a pass-through interior window in an office wall, painting walls and cabinetry, installing new peel and stick carpet squares, adhering new baseboards and securing bookshelves to the walls.
Tools that would be helpful are gloves, safety glasses, nail crowbar, hammers for ripping out baseboards, and razor blades for cutting carpet.
I am looking for some volunteers for two phases of the work.
Phase 1 is Saturday May 26 8am-11am
This will be demo day. We will be ripping out baseboards, cutting, removing and rolling carpeting for the dumpsters and prepping the floor for new carpet.
Phase 2 is Saturday June 9 8am -2pm
We will be trimming and painting the main room and interior office, painting the existing cabinetry and laying the new carpeting.
Any support your organization can provide would be very helpful and appreciated. We have a job or every skill level.
Interested volunteers can email me at jrakki16@gmail.com or call me directly at 602-579-9911.
Scouting has similar pillars of character just like the Knights: charity, unity, and fraternity. I hope we can bridge our organizations with our common effort to serve others in need.
Thank you so much for your consideration and thank you in advance for your involvement and support.

Brothers...our final raffle meeting/ticket processing party is Wed, May 16, at 7 PM in rooms 7 & 8. We’re trying a last-minute push to get at least past the $15,000 mark and we need help. Some of us have been beating-the-bushes as much as possible these past few days and we would appreciate it if others of you would dig as deep as you can.If you haven’t bought/sold raffle tickets yet this year (or even if you have) please bring all results in on Wed evening. For bookkeeping purposes please put tickets and money in an envelope with your name and the amount on the outside. We can then total it up and add on what we take in at the convention...and that will be that. After the convention I’ll analyze the spreadsheets, etc., and try to get a handle on it.Thanks,Theron JacksonCouncil Raffle Chair
Brothers: We’ll have our finalizing “wraffle-wrap” gathering this coming Wednesday evening at 7 PM in rooms 7 & 8. Yes, 7 & 8, not the normal 5 & 6.
For the uninitiated this is where we get the tickets ready for the drawing. We take all the books apart, make sure they are all filled in, stamp our Council number on the back, and laugh and scratch a lot. It’s a good time. Rumor has it that refreshments will be served.
Please join us...we need your help this last time for the raffle season.
I’m working now on the final numbers and we’ll get them to you ASAP.
Thanks again,
Theron Jackson

Brother Knights,
We need help this weekend. After all masses we will be selling state raffle tickets. This is our last push. We are short of our goal and really need an extra push to hit the goal.
Also, it is Mothers’ Day. After the 4:00 Saturday, 7:00, 8:30, 10:30 and 12:30 Sunday masses we will be selling Roses. Roses will be up to what the person would like to donate. ALL proceeds will go to the Respect Life committee.
An alternate to this is if someone buys a book of raffle tickets, they will receive a rose for free.
Please respond to me if you could help out this weekend and which mass you are attending.
Thanks!
Tom

It will be the usual, Rooms 5&6 at 7:00PM.
ALL Knights are welcome to attend the leadership meeting. The primary purpose of the meeting is to go through upcoming events in more detail and discuss items that affect to the council.
If you have any fund raising activities that you would like to propose, it is brought up in this meeting.
Have a great week!!
